The wine region of Mendoza is perched at the foothills of the Andes Mountains, and is Argentina’s largest viticultural area. It is also known worldwide as Malbec’s new world epicenter. Lujan de Cuyo is one of Mendoza’s three sub-regions and is home to some of the most famous names in Argentinean wine. There, vineyards stretch from the Mendoza River out towards the mountains and average over 3,000 feet in elevation.

This wine was made from meticulously tended Malbec grapes grown on high-elevation, old vines in Lujan de Cuyo. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wine is fermented in stainless steel before being aged for 6 months in a blend of new and used French oak.

TASTING NOTES

Deep ruby-purple in color, this wine boasts exquisite aromas of blackberries, blueberries, plum and spice. It is well balanced with ample structure and mild tannins. Dark cherry and hints of wood smoke emerge on the finish to leave an elegant and lasting impression.
